Jason wouldn’t lie, he loved the sound of Benny’s voice. Sure it wasn’t by any means ‘normal’, but it was Ben’s; his boyfriend’s. He knew it was a huge deal that Benny could speak, let alone how well he was. Snuggling to Benny’s side as well he looked to his hands and chuckled. You know you don’t have to sign with me. I love your voice.

Benny looked at Jason’s signs. How he told him that he loved his voice. I know. I just think it sounds funny. It isn’t normal. It doesn’t sound like anyone else’s. Sure, technically, no one sounded the same as another person, but there was even more of a difference between his and everyone else’s in the town. I can talk for you, though, if you want

Jason watched as Benny explained his day and nodded, his heart-beat racing at the thought of Benny’s mother. Jason knew that a mother’s fury was the worst to face, and that was something he wanted to avoid in their relationship; Though he knew it would be almost impossible. “I’m glad you got your work done.” He said simply with a soft smile.

“Alright, but much better now.” Jason said with a soft smirk before leading his boyfriend to the couch and sitting with him. “I worked this morning, and it wasn’t horrible.. I guess.” He said with a chuckle. In all honesty, the only thing he didn’t like about the job was working with a couple werewolves.

“Me too” he smiled, knowing that if he hadn’t then if his mother texted he’d have to go back home. Benny sat down on the couch with Jason, instinctively going to cuddle up to him. That’s good. he signed to him, still not entirely used to the sound of his voice ever since he started speech therapy classes.

Jason was now a host at Julio’s, and his hours were much more flexible which meant seeing Ben more often. Lately seeing Benny was the only good part of his life. Sure he was making money, and he was living well in his apartment; but things didn’t seem right with Freddie gone.

Yet when Benny said he’d come over for the evening Jason did the dishes and ordered a pizza for them, knowing Ben would probably be hungry. After hanging up the phone Jason heard the knock on the door, and a squeal from the boy’s hearing aide.

With a smirk he opened the door, looking to his boyfriend and taking his hand to lead him into the apartment. Giving him a gentle kiss the man made sure Benny was looking at him when he asked, “How was school?”

Benny smiled as he was kissed by his boyfriend, and managed to return it lightly before the older boy…man pulled away. “School was okay” he told him “I had some homework, but I finished it before I came over. Mom can’t yell at me for having it and coming here, if I’m done already.” he smiled, thinking his mother would have no reason to protest if his homework was already done. “How was your day?”

School had let out an hour or so ago, and Benny had gone home to put his things up and work on what homework he’d been given. There wasn’t a whole lot of it, some outlining in History, and the even numbers of the section of Geometry they’d gone over in class today. As soon as he was done he made his way out his window and towards Jason’s.

Seeing Jason was always his favorite part of the day, even though his mother didn’t exactly approve of it. It was why Benny normally snuck out to go see the older boy. It wasn’t like they had done anything yet that his mother needed to be worried about. Nothing had gone past hands, and occasionally mouths, but mainly hands.

He knocked on the door and then reached up to turn his hearing aid up a little.

When he saw his younger love wave at him, Jason couldn’t help the silly-ass grin that consumed his face. Stepping toward the door he watched Benny disappear into the back, and sighed leaning against the window, the silly grin still attached to his lips. Before he could let the breath out he’d heard Benny walking out.

Turning to the male he smiled and gave a soft nod. How was work? He asked and began to walk alongside the boy. Glancing up and down the street he scoped the area out, but kept Benny in his vision. Focusing on him again Jason found it hard not to wanna touch him.. Kiss him just once before he dropped him off at home. But it wasn’t something Jason would or could ask for.

It was busy. The place always seemed to get that way during the summer. It made sense seeing as it was hotter, unless the faeries decided otherwise, and school was out. The majority of the patrons were families, parents taking their kids out for an ice cream cone, and then those who had been spending the day at the pool. Benny had spent a portion of the day mopping up trails of pool water when it was too busy for him to work behind the counter. How was your day?
